So yup, Headed to my Mom's for lunch before she makes her way down south for a month. And dumped.
Not, even 2 klicks from home. I had just passed a slower moving comuter, then came back into the inside lane. Now, the big painted bar before the crosswalk has this crack bout 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 inches wide that runs up the road parallel the the double solids for about 30-40 feet. I ride past this very same line everyday. Today I rode in it. No worries, I climb right back out of it, no, my exit point of the crack has oil on it, my tires wet, the pavement is damp dry. Front end slides out I try to correct then say phuck it and bail. Bike slides 20-25 feet. Broke the mirror clean off, scratch tha cap, signals made it (usable). Me scrached knee, swollen knee and calf muskle. RIDER ERROR
All in all not bad to for me or the old gurl I got scratch, Betsy got scratched. But no broken bones for either of us. RIDER ERROR indeed! Did I learn anything from this as it is my first DUMP, I'd hafta say no. I did however get a nice little reminder how important my attention is. This happened because I was thinking of something else. And not giving it 100%. Will this perhaps give others a reminder? I hope so. It has for me I pride myself in the focus I've got when riding, just goes to show even we break our own rules.
