My bike now sports a Windstrom Manta screen. I found the stock screen great for around town and hwy, and in the 3rd position it was almost perfect. Researching I came across the Manta which is a wider and higher screen and came with lots of accolades from other Stromers.
I started in the 3rd position and found although quieter than stock, my helmet was being pushed forward. I next tried the lowest position which ended up being perfect for me solo. Dead quiet and calm airflow. Two up in the lowest position at speeds over 130kph there's a bit of head wobble, but I haven't been able to try the higher mounting positions yet two up. I think this may be resolved if I swap the rear shock to one with a higher spring rate since it changes the pitch of the screen when the rear is loaded down.
In the lowest position, which I favor, I find it no more intrusive than the stocker in the 3rd.
I'll give the screen a recommendation, though at $230 ish CDN it's pricey. So if any '04 and up Stromers wish to try it out prior to buying one, come out to the Valley for a ride.
Oh, it's 6mm thick so there is zero screen flex. The mounting hardware seems a bit hokey, but works and is as easy to install and adjust as the stocker. I will be trimming the stock screw covers to fit Manta to give her a more finished look.
