    Angry Autoplan brokers so inconsitent

I have called three different Autoplan brokers asking for a quote for storage insurance for my bike. All were given the same details: declared value, location of storage, etc.

I have received three significantly different quotes!

    1) $6/month
    2) $31.25/month
    3) $62.50/month

WTF!? Why is this so difficult? Sigh.

I would think 31.25 would be the one closest to correct.

realistically once you go in, they're all going to give you the exact same rate, you might as well just go to one.

    my 01 R1 was $100 for 3 months for $6000 decl. value.

Yes, that SHOULD be what happens. So why so different?!

The purpose of my request for a quote was to compare my current Coast Capital policy to what ICBC can offer me.

They don't understand motorcycles. Just imagine heading out under-insured by way of a broker's mistake!

I keep copies of all past policies. When I go in for storage or a renewal I bring them along so I can compare the quote they give me, and if it seems too high or low then I start asking questions.

Exactly! They make a mistake but YOU pay.

So, can anyone recommend an Autoplan broker on the Vancouver west side who DOES understand motorcycle policies?

I'm pretty sure it's option#2 with price for 3 months.
3 months is the minimum you can buy

Go to the $6 guy's office, but be prepared for disappointment.

Got my insurance with Buntain Insurance Agencies 1586 West Broadway. (near Granville and Broadway). Super nice people. I wanted quotes to see how a bigger bike might affect my insurance rates. These folks gave me three separate quotes and asked if I wanted more. Other agencies were not as courteous. I did walk in though and I had all the details in hand so as to not waste their time.

I've always used BCAA (Broadway and Oak) and they've been fine. I was just there yesterday getting storage for my bike, I think it was around $125 for 6 months.

    None right now...
$100-$150 for 6 months sounds about right to me too. My wife bought storage for her EX500 last year, it was in that ballpark. I left the insurance on the VFR, but this year i'm going to switch to storage. Maybe this weekend, we'll see.

Cindee Pageant, she works in house at John Valk Ducati. She saved me 30% on my insurance... more than Geico even could

She knows bike insurance more than anyone. pm me for her number.

I was told last year that storage insurance is about 35% of your cost per month for normal insurance. so option 2 is accurate

This will be the first year I am going to store my bike. My question is... for example when you cancel car plates you can get theft for a number of months for just $30 instead of paying cancellation. Can someone clear this up for me please?
