I was reminded of the discrepency in bike prices by an article on Motorcycle.com which listed the price of an FJR1300 as seemingly very low. Here are the goods.
2006 FJR1300 (base model) Canadians pay $2,900 more!
Price in Canada = $18,900 CAD
Price in US = $16,000 CAD (13,500 USD)
2006 FZ1 Canadians Pay $1,700 more!
Price in Canada = $12,500 CAD
Price in US = $10,800 CAD ($9,100 USD)
2006 Vmax Americans pay $450 more!
Price in Canada $12,700 CAD
Price in US = $13,150 CAD ($11,100 USD)
It seems that Canadians pay large premiums on some models regardless of the strength of our dollar. I can understand a small discrepency because we're a smaller market but the VMax as one case in point makes the whole premium thing look bogus, like a big money grab. Any thoughts?
