18 year old Wolfey MCKINNON from Prince George was killed on Saturday night on Highway
1, east of Chase. He failed to negotiate a curve on his motorcycle and went off the roadway.
MCKINNON left Prince George at 3:00 P.M., he called a friend at 7:40 P.M. to say he was really cold
but he wanted to continue his ride so he could reach his destination which was Salmon Arm.
Fatigue, inexperience, cold and possibly speed may have been factors in why this young man left the
MCKINNON graduated from a Prince George High School in June of this year. He was on the
honor roll and was extremely athletic. He was a youth and church leader, he was extremely self
motivated and had aspirations of becoming an architect. He had a huge love for big motors and had
just purchased his first motorcycle. He was a brand new driver, having just received his class 5 and
full class 6 licence in the mail, the day he left on his trip. His parents stated “ He had a golden heart
and a golden soul.”
