The Preston Motorcycle Club in Australia has introduced a new racing class for its members. It's called Twin Sprints and, although they've designed it as the next step for 250 production riders in their country, it struck me as a good idea for Novice riders in any club.

Here's the rundown:

Twin cylinder 400-650cc 4 Stroke Production machines. (Vtwins and inline twins)

Changes allowed are:
Fork internals
Rear shock
brake lines and linings
Muffler(Slip-on Only)
Steering damper
External gearing

The GS500, SV650 and EX500 are just a few of the bikes that would be eligible, and it seems to be a really smart way to allow new racers to develop their skills without getting in over their heads, both performance-wise and financially.
