I've been racking my brain over high def. My TV supports it and it looks hot but I'm not sure I want to go satellite. I use shaw for everything now and would contemplate switch video to bell, starchoice or dish network for my high def signal.
I know the pros and cons. You gotta buy extra equipment. Dumb for cable, I mena my TV gets 67 trillion channels but I can't use the damn tuner.
Next you can get fooled by channels. Bells says 27 and most of them include the east and west stations. Minus the time zone zombies and the crap hi def kintting channels and you get roughly the same as Shaw. Shaw is adding channels they tell me. So channel pick really isn't a big dela for me since NO ONE carries the ITV bird here for F1 so I just don't care.
The real swinger comes with all channels being digital with the pie platter. With cable you see just INSANE mpeg artifacts/compression. This shit really bothers me - "Uh no, his face is over there why are his lips on the other side of the screen?" Does satellite exhibit this nasty compression? Oh all that and the damn shaw box with "programming credits" which I'll never use is $100 more than the dish.
What are you running and why?
