My old one (MSI) had bad caps and I need to replace it with a model with similar specs.
The MINIMUM requirements are:
- good quality (ie no more bad caps)
- less than 200 bucks
- accept a 775Land P4 processor (around 2.8 - 3 GHz)
- PCI express video
- Onboard 5.1 sound
- Onboard LAN
- Interface to front side connector panel (Firewire, SD cars, USB, sound etc.)
There are a LOT of choices out there these days.
I'm particular to ASUS because of the good warranty and ready-to-overclock features they have but I'm not limiting myself to them either if there is something else comparable out there.
I DONT want to cheap out on this either, if Intel (for eg.) makes the most durable MOBOs and costs a bit over 200 bucks then I'll get that.
