I am thinking about getting into riding, probably in the spring so I have the summer to learn. I was wondering if a motorcycle is a good main form of transportation. I want to use this thing to go to school, work, where ever, driving or taking public transit on horrible days of course. Is this practical?
Also, I have read on this forum all about how 600cc bikes are bad for beginners to start on. I am in support of this argument and I hope to find a smaller bike to start out on. However, I plan on taking a full riding course. Does this change the circumstances. And what about older late 80's and early 90's 600cc bikes, are they a little more forgiving for new guys?
Last thing. I have little to no automotive experience. Say I were to find a bike that needed a little bit of work and I wanted to do it myself. Is it easy to learn to work on one of these things when beginning with no experience?
Thanks for any info.
