Hi guys, tried the search function but nothing came up quickly so I thought I'd ask.
Bike: 83 Yamamah Seca 400 - 400cc Parallel twin, mostly stock except for supertrapp muffler, retuned carbs. Great on insurance. 60+K on engine. Small oil leak but nothing major.
History: Commuted on the bike for the last year and it ran unbelievably well rain, shine or snow. Took it on some rough terrain (gravel trails) summer of 2005and ever since then I haven't really bothered to ride it - busy enjoying the TL.
Current problems and condition:
A month or so after I took it on the gravel trails I went to go for a quick ride but the thing wouldn't start. Charged up the battery and it turned, but it wouldn't catch. Can someone point me in the right direction? Would it be gummed carbs(it's been 6 months now, so probably)? Bad sparkplugs, spark wires.
There's a small gas leak - previous own sealed a rust spot. Location is at bottom of tank just in front of where bike seat meets tank. How do I reseal this? Any Canadian tire products to suggest?
I'm just want to get the bike running so a family friend can use it to learn how to ride. I'd really love have the beast ready in time for the family friend to catch the nice weather.
Thanks in advance.
