Yeah theres a story behind that accident, The police carry that around from show to show i beleive to keep peoples heads in the right place. The bike hit so hard it ejected the 2 people and the rider from the car killing them instantly, and ripped the chassis of the car in half.
I cant seem to remember whose fault it was though.
Somebody sent me the press release from a British paper a few days ago, along with the pictures.
The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his

wierd... thats my desktop background right now.... LOL
Man, I drooled over that bike back in the day. Mind you, the ones I drooled over weren't inside any Volkswagens.
RC45 isn't it? I think.Originally Posted by Tattoodles

Er, yes... I meant to say RC45. Sorry, I took a lot of acid back in the 60's.
repost, but always a serious message

KE = 1/2 * mass* velocity ^2
This bike had roughly the same amount of energy as a 3 ton vehicle moving at 80 kph......scary
Probably better to look at its momentum..since energy was not conserved during the crash.
P = mass * velocity...still quite a bit of momentum..."quite a bit"...
It's worth noting that some of the damage (notably the split in the bottom of the doorframe) was done by the jaws of life and the accident investigation team, not by the accident. They had to disassemble the car and bike to get the bodies out of it and clean up the spilt liquids. Then they put it all back together (mostly) as they found it for the travelling display.
Still, it's a pretty good indication why speed kills.

Brutal. What a sad way for everyone to go.
Cry in the dojo, laugh on the battlefield
Sparring speed is a matter of simple physics:
The height of your flight is inversely proportionate to the mass of your ass.
The message is cars are dangerous.
If that car wasnt there, the bike would be ok.
Ban cars immediately.
