The WMRC exectutive has decided to test the Mission track to see if it is suitable to hold endurance racing events next year.
The regular T&T day will still be held, it will just be cut a bit short. We will also reduce the T&T fee for this event to $50.
We are going to hold a "mock" 2 hr endurance race at the end of the test and tune day Monday September 23/02. This is the perfect opportunity to finish off your race season with a bang (and no I don't mean crashing). We want aprox 15 teams to enter, space is limited and filling up fast. Go to WMRC.ca to sign up.
All licenced racers are welcome (novices, expert/pro) , minimum one rider change. There will be 2 classes lightweight (under 600cc) and heavyweight (over 600cc) as well as an overall winner.
Fee for the 2 hour endurance race will be $75 per team (thats a ton of track time for your money, and bring lots of gas). Each team must supply at least one lap timer, no experience is necessary. We will be following the Northwest Endurance Racing rules ,see WMRRA for more rules or contact me.
If you have never tried endurance racing, this is a perfect oportunity (and cheap, ussually costs $300 and up) to experience a completely different form of racing. Pit strategy, timed gas stops, quick rider changes, conservation of bike and rider are all as important as fast lap times. No special equipment is needed.
We had a very poor turn out to our Aug. 26th T&T, it was close to being cancelled. If you can't afford to race please come out and volunteer and get a free lunch , our club depends on volenteers, without them we cannot race. We are going to need lots of cornerworkers and volunteers to make this event a success.
Monday Sept. 23 - T&T from 9am to 2:30 pm....$50
- 2 hour endurance ....$75
Free memberships, free T&T days and other gifts will be awarded.
Hope to see you all out there.
