I go on 2 rides of about 3000kms each year with some old racing buddies, I end up after the 2nd ride with 1/2 worn rear brake pads and they are absolutely fried as in burnt and srt of melted looking on the outer 1/16th inch of the pad. I don't drag the brakes, we do ride hard, and my buddies K1200 BMW has heating problems with his rear brakes on these rides. His become grabby while mine become almost useless for stopping, by the end of a few miles of hard twisties they won/t even lockup the back wheel. Is there better compounds I can get put on my pads in the Vancouver area. When I raced in New Zealand I would take my pads to Ferrodo and they would put a compound on that had to be heated up to work but once hot they were awesome, smooth and didnot glaze or whatever this is that is happening.
