We thought the troubles between container truckers and the Port of Vancouver were over. But, they've rolled hundred of rigs into town today to protest the end of an agreement that prevents companies from undercutting one another. On April 20th, the agreement (order in council) runs out. Drivers like Gary Stevenson are worried if it's not extended, the Port will erupt in chaos and companies will also begin to ignore mediator Vince Ready's 2005 deal. Stevenson says, unless Ready and the federal government get their acts together drivers will strike again. Paul Uppal with the Vancouver Container Truck Association says requests to meet with Transportation Minister Lawrence Cannon have been ignored. Uppal says, they haven't heard from anyone in the federal government at all. He also guarantees the Port will end up behind pickets again, if Cannon refuses to get involved.
