Mounties Thunder Rumbles Through the Valley
Pacific Region Training Centre
The Fraser Valley will again rumble with the friendly sounds of Harley Davidson V Twin motorcycles and police sirens. From April 19th to 29th 2006, the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre in Vedder Crossing will be the site of the RCMP Motorcycle Operators’ Course. This event bring the Class of 2006, approximately 20 Police Motorcycles riders and their instructors to our local roadways.
Please be advised that from time to time our Police Motorcycle Riders will be stopping members of the public as part of their duties, and an integral part of their training, more specifically between Wednesday April 26th to Saturday April 29. Police Emergency Responses with the assistance of lights and siren will also be implemented with the Cities of Abbotsford and Chilliwack, along the freeway as well as with the rural streets surrounding Chilliwack. From time to time, the Motors Officers will also be blocking intersections and traffic may be diverted for brief periods of time.
It must be noted that these Police Motor Officers are being trained as a part of the RCMP’s continuing commitment to “Safer Streets and Safer Communities” as part of the National Road Safety Vision 2010 Traffic Program. In past years the police have received positive cooperation from drivers in the Fraser Valley area and again this year the police thank the public for their anticipated patience, assistance and support.
