So... last friday i replaced my clutch plates and when i was bolting the pressure plate back on i snapped off one of the spring bolts, so now it looks like i need to replace the clutch boss (and buy a torque wrench).
My question is whether it is ok to ride the bike gently with only 4 of the 6 springs installed. I took out the spring opposing the one that i broke so that pressure distribution is even.
I tested the bike riding it around the parking garage and did a few gently burnouts. It seems to be ok and not slipping. I don't want to have to buy another set of plates because of clutch slip though.
I know the obvious advice is not to ride it until it's fixed, but it looks like the clutch boss is backordered from Yamaha and it may take 3 or 4 weeks to get it, so I'd like to do a bit of gentle riding in the meantime if possible.
