I know it's late in the season but I had the money so I got some Metzler M1 Sportecs for the Green Meanie. As I type this they are sitting out in the garage on the wheels waiting to be put back onto the bike.
First impressions are that the profiles are noticably egg shaped, as opposed to round like my old 207's. In light of this I'm feeling pretty good about the rep' they have for making the bike feel super light on the steering.
These are replacing my old tired 207 front with over 16000 kms and the new but crappy D220 I put on the bike just before my trip.
Unless you hear that Dunlop has fixed the 220 I'd stay away from these. Grip is so so and the wear is, um, highly accelerated. My old 207 looked WAY better with 4500 kms on it than the supposedly harder compound D220 did.
More impressions after the weekend.........
