Took the bike out on that really windy day last week... gusts of 70 - 80km/h and steady wind. It wasn't so bad until I hit the Port Mann going east bound and just as I took that curve heading on to the bridge, the wind gusted enough to push me uncomfortably close to the wall even at a pretty good lean. Scared the hell out of me. I was leaning in to the steady wind but was already leaning in to the turn when the gust hit.
I wasn't expecting it to happen at that point, which I should have. The road suddenly becomes very exposed to wind over the fraser at that spot and it really picked up. Guess I'm just writing this as a reminder, watch the windy days!
