back in aug/05, i replaced the 3 wheel bearings in my rear wheel, cuz the one on the brake rotor side had separated. the other 2 were fine, but since i was replacing one, might as well do all 3.
a couple of days ago, i was hearing random clunking from the rear wheel, which were the same sort of sound i heard last time, so pulled it apart. turns out that the wheel bearing on the brake rotor side had, once again, broken down. the thin metal covering the ball bearings were in shards. once again, the other 2 wheel bearings were fine.
so what causes this? why that specific one that keeps breaking down?
