Great Service at 55Degreez.com
Hello guys and gals, I just wanted to pass the word around that I received some awesome service from Jamie at 55Degreez.com.
They recently advertised a sale on some of their 2005 leather jackets and I took them up on their offer. Given that they are a Toronto shop, I was concerned about their return/exchange policy; normally, there is no return on a sale item. Well, I wear a sz US36 and, depending on the manufacturer, it may still be too big. Anyways, Jamie generously made an exception to their return policy to allow me to return the item should it not fit me properly as long as I accept all shipping charges. Fair enough.
We communicated via email and I only made one long distance phone call that took 90 seconds to give him my credit card number. I requested that he ship it via Canada Post using the cheapest method possible and to add insurance for the value of the jacket - he did exactly as agreed.
Jacket was $400 on sale from regular of $759; I only paid the GST since the Ontario PST did not apply to me; whatever I saved on PST, I spent on shipping which was a mere $25 including insurance and parcel tracking. Ten days later, the jacket was at my door for $455 which was exactly what it would have cost me had I bought it locally.
All in all, it was a great experience doing business with Jamie. Replies to my email were prompt; shipping was done exactly as agreed upon; there was no mark-up on the shipping; and he sent my jacket the very next business day.
so if you didn't save any money, and waited 10 days to get it, why didn't you buy locally?

My apologies, I should've been more precise. What I meant to say was that if the jacket was the same price (which it wasn't) locally, then it would have been the same "out-the-door" cost due to offsetting effect of no PST but must pay shipping.

On another note, RMS didn't have my size so even if they matched 55Degreez's price, I would've ordered from 55Degreez anyways.
