Hey, I'm looking for some partners in Big Traily crime to explore Squamish Valley (Squamish, out of town to the northWEST through Breckendale (?), past the airport, then out Squamish Valley Road). The pavement ends at mile 20, right here:
You can zoom in/out and select "map, hybrid, or satelite" from that page to give you an idea of where that is. I've been ten miles on the dirt road and it's in good condition that far.
Need to be aware of other road users, campers, fishers and possible logging trucks, of course.
I also once took a side road to the west just after the pavement ends and only stopped because I was solo, nobody knew where I was, and it got steep. Of course, no cell service. I figured if I fell off and broke an arm that would suck. But with a small group it would be much safer.
I'm in Kits.
Not sure when. Today is possible (Saturday). Sunday maybe, but I'd need to bugger back towards town by around 1:00. Or another weekend. Week days are possible, too, with some planning.
