    Rider Down RIP

    http://www.castanet.net/edition/news...2-1-.htm#18462

One man is dead following an accident involving a motorcycle and dump truck on Highway 97 and Lloyd Road Saturday morning.

RCMP Constable Bob Charron says the truck was making a left turn off Loyd onto the Highway.

The lane was clear, and according to witnesses, as he proceeded into the intersection the southbound motorcycle appeared from behind traffic and accelerated toward the intersection.

The cycle attempted to avoid the accident, but hit the truck just below the driver's side door.

The driver of the truck was visibly shaken, and had to be assisted to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to KGH.

I talked to a guy that was just 10 minutes behind the accident. It was an RC51, he said it was really ugly and did not want to talk about what he saw. RIP rider..

I agree with F1_Fan about the left turns onto highways.

    RIP Rider!

Victoria is really bad for left turns in oncoming traffic along the Pat Bay Hwy. Is there a solution? Nope...

I just heard it on the new. They said the rider was riding recklessly at high speeds and gunned the intersection.

The news really likes to say that about all sportbike accidents. Not all of them are. Let's wait few days and see if anything else comes up. Not point in posting every tidbit of information.

Passing in an intersection is not a safe thing to do, as proved so in this unfortunate case, IF the report about what happened is accurate.

RIP Rider, one of the times you dont want to be impatient is in traffic IMO. I got hit by a left hand turner 2 years ago and so I take my time @ intersections now. It seems that people (cagers) are always in a hurry which isnt good for us 2 wheelers so take your time folks.

A few weeks after that accident leaving the ICBC claims office on my new replace bike, the light turned green and I was about to go but for some reason I didn't then all of a sudden a honger chick on a her celly blew through the intersection at over 80, if I would have left I'd be seriously fucked up. I couldn't believe. Take your time in traffic folks thats all I gotta say.
