Hey everybody, I wanted to start a thread on dealership/mechanic issues that people have had. Recently I had my bike fixed at a Honda dealership out in Abbotsford on Clearbrook Rd. and they broke off a huge chunk of the nose fairing as well as the windshield. And they claim no responsibility! As well, they lost my insurance papers (Fortunately, I had JUST the transfer papers mailed to me by a business 13 blocks away from me. The ICBC papers were still missing!) Here's the story:
I had the dealership pick up my bike from my house with their trailer first thing in the morning on a friday. They had to hold it in their shop over the weekend because they couldn't get the part until the following tuesday. I called a total of three times: First on friday to confirm that they were getting the part, Second on Tuesday morning and they said that they got the part and they were going to put it on, which would take an hour or so, and Third before I left work at 3:30 to see if they were done the job. They still weren't done the job by that time! Every time I talked to them, they seemed rude and wouldn't give me very straight answers. So I stopped by after work around 5:30, around closing time because it was on my way home and I figured they should be done by that time. As I was pulling up to their place I got a call from them saying that the bike wasn't finished and that it would be ready the following day because they had to put oil in it. Instead I went inside and asked to take a look at it and possibly see if they could put oil in so I could take it off their hands. When I asked them about the damage to the fairing they initially claimed no responsibility and said they would look around the shop for the pieces. I was able to get them to finish putting oil in it and take it home. The next morning after I found the insurance papers missing out from under the seat I phoned them and asked them if they knew where they were and to look around their place for them. With no hesitation they claimed no responsibility for that loss and didn't even look around for them! There isn't much that ICBC can do for me to get them to claim responsibility so I've been stuck w/ paying my deductible to get the bike fixed, as well as pay to get new insurance papers.
Basically, I just wanted to let all of you know that these people at the Honda dealership in Abbotsford on Clearbrook Rd are DISHONEST and have NO IDEA what customer service is. Does anybody have any stories like this that they wanna share? Or have any comments on my experience? Lets get a sticky goin!!
