I'm riding around the jericho beach area around 7:30pm comming down the hill from the ubc side. I'm going much slower than my usual pace as there was a car infront of me. All of a sudden a dog bolts out from the bushes on my right side. I barely have time to react, I grab enough front brakes to scare myself,
shrug it off, and keep riding on.
As part of my usual route I turn into the first parking lot and and backtrack up the little set of twisties. I'm in the parking lot now and thinking to myself, if I had hit that dog what would i be more sad about killing a dog, or the fact that my bike would have gotten damaged?..As i'm thinking that another dog jumps out from between some parked cars and directly across my path!
Lucky i was going parking lot speed, but holy Bull CR*P!
If i had run over those dogs, the owners would probably blame me!
So I would have killed a dog,
Damaged my bike,
Owner of dog yelling at me,
Feel so bad about killing a dog.
As i ride back up the hill, I see the owner of the first dog. He was jogging up the side walk, (But now has the dog on a leash).
Why didn't he just have him on the leash in the first place!!!!
Anyways just wanted to share that. and to warn others to watch out for dogs in that area!
