4 months ago I was in a pretty bad motorcycle accident in which I shattered my scapula (shoulder). I have been eager to return to riding, the nice weather was teasing me and I am finally well enough to do. So I went for a ride for the first time since my accident today and like I said it was shaky. When I geared up and through my leg over the bike I could barely keep my hand from shaking!! I got off then on and off…I am sure my neighbors were laughing their ass off… I was lucky enough to have a good friend with me to help me work my way through this and not pressure me to ride out side of my comfort zone…for the fist 45 minuets I was barely comfortable riding in a straight line, every corner I tensed up and my shoulder would ache. By the end of the 2 hour ride I was slowly gaining more confidence but I was still really shaky. Has anyone had something similar to this happen and if so how long until you were back to normal (I mean comfortable on the bike)?? I love the sport and I love to ride but I am endangering people around me and myself if I am not confident enough to ride. What do you guys think?
