Here's a brief review of the trip I've just returned from. I'm calling it my Power Trip, since it originally started off as a 10 day pleasure cruise and ended up being cut down to 5 days. I came across some unexpected family obligations, and couldn't postpone my vacation time at work. During those 5 days I totalled 3476.8 kms, averaging almost 700 per day.
I'll run through the trip with some pictures of the more important landmarks, and a few goofy pics too I'm sure.
I woke up at 4:25 am, not yet sure where I was going, the weather looked crappy here in BC, so I decided to head south as far as I could go in two days, then work my way up through different roads. At 4:45 am I got on my bike and headed out. Here's a picture of the full load. Tent, sleeping bag, stove and enough supplies like food and clothing for 6 days. The Strom packed pretty well!
This was a pretty bland day, but enjoyable non the less. I rode for a total of 940 km's in exactly 12 hours, ending up in Medford Oregon, just 46 kms short of the California border. I rode though every range of temperature from12c here ending at 34c in Medford. I got seriously rained on through most of Washinton, then was roasted all the way to Cali. In Medford I grabbed a hotel room, ending the day in airconditioned bliss.
