Today was a good day. I went to Carter at Coquitlam hoping to see how much they'd give me for my bike on trade in.
Well I got to test ride both the 98VTR and 98TLS back to back.
First time I've ridden a 1000 cc V-twin. WHAT A HOOT. I can't really tell how fast these bikes are because when you wring any bike out it all feels fast. My lasting impression of the V-Twin feel is right now throttle response and the power band kicks in aLOT quicker.
The TLS has got bags of attitude, but man it's got some rough ergos. Little tougher on the wrists tooting from stoplight to stoplight and around sharp corners. My legs hurt from squeezing the tank trying to keep myself from crotching myself at every stoplight. Nice top end power for sure. There's a definite kick around 6-7K rpm.
The VTR had what seemed like just a touch more lowend grunt but a more linear power curve...no holy shit snapper at the end like the TLS had. Very easy to manuevre with neutral steering. Felt exactly like my old F2. No surprises.
What a fun day!
