I live in the West End. All day and all night, there's roaming gangs of Japanese students walking down the middle of the ROAD and ignoring the perfectly good sidewalk. It goes on day after day - they just refuse to walk on the sidewalk. People have to swerve out of the way, people honk and they just keep strolling down the middle of the road for blocks and blocks.
Seemingly it's only Asian kids, whom I'm assuming are Japanese English students as they live en masse here in the West End.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why they do this? Is this a cultural phenominon that goes on in Japan that I don't know about?
Sorry if I sound like a racist dick, I'm really trying to not be, but man, it's as bad as deer in the road.
