What do you think of the 94 RF600R?

Hi guys, I am shopping for a used bike at the mo, I have three years exp and have owned a sportbike before.

I found what I think is a reasonable deal on this bike, I am sure someone out there can tell me a bit about it or offer some feedback BTW I am 5'6 115lb female. Is this an 'extreme position' bike or average sport bike?

It is located a few hours drive from me, so I am trying to get as much detail on this model as possible before I check it out.

BTW, for a 1994 Suzuki RF600R, with 20,000 what is a reasonable price range, do you think

    Thanks in advance,
    Ride Safe
    Fawn

96 Kawi Ninja EX500R , with about 30,000 kms same price. What do you think?

I would get the Ninja 500. A lot more parts availible if needed.

The RF uses the same engine in the family of the older GSX-R's and the Bandits.

It's not water cooled, down a bit on power from the newer bikes, somewhat buzzy, and the suspension and gear are parts bin components, which means it's pretty easy to upgrade them to better GSX-R or aftermarket items. At that age you'd need to replace/rebuild the suspension anyway.

Weird plastics, may be hard to find if they're damaged or if you drop it. Expect a $1,000 off from a comparable CBR600?

They styling isn't for everyone, but I can guarantee you won't be running into identical bikes everywhere you go like you would with an R6 or a CBR 600.

so is $3g a decent price? for either? Both are a few hours drive from me so I am going to check out a few other bikes in the area at the same time...

The 500 Ninja would have to be mint for that. If it's not, knock it down $500 - $1,000. Might not be a bad price for the 600 if it's in good shape.

    Good luck!
