My wife an I recieved a few cashable vouchers from United furniture on behalf of "The consumers Trust" when we bought all our stuff there when we got married. We had rooughly $1800 worth of them that you had to wait 3 years to cash blah blah blah. 3 year anniversay came, did all the rules they ask, gave all the doccuments, and sent them off regestered mail. got the same package we sent a week later "return to sender" Went to United furniture to find out the Consumers trust's new address....The manger came and talked to me...apologized, and said that the Consumers trust is bankrupt, and the vouchers are useless. He told me that We could use 50% of the vouchers worth towards anything in the store if we qualified blah blah blah.....or he said we could join a class action lawsuit againt the Consumers trust company already in progress. Anyways, were really dissapointed, as the 1800 bucks was gonna go towards part of our downpayment on a home. Anyways I am sure My wife and I are not the only ones in BC who were duped, as I believe the cash back promtion was at other retailers around BC as well.
At least we still got all the furniture we purchased in the first place, and only out a lttle bit of dignity.
Rant over....back to your regularly scheduled program
Any one else get duped by consumers trust?
