Hello everyone, last night I went drag racing at mission. I've never ever dragged race before and have only been riding my 600rr for a good 3 weeks. I've put on a solid 2400 kms though but it's not to say i'm a good rider, because i'm not.
I had 3 runs at mission and then I called it a night, it was very full. On my first run I was so nervous looking at the crowd that my reaction time was horrible, I bogged the bike from first gear and I missed 2nd gear twice. I finished with a 12.8 q/t mile time
My second run was much better. I still bogged from a roll even though I launched from 5,000 rpm, however I did not feather the clutch *noob mistake* all I did was drop it and give her throttle. I did not miss any gears and ran a 12.3 q/t mile time
My last run was the best. I was ready, I staged my bike properly and held her at a steady 5,500 RPM. The light turns green and I feather the clutch out in first and off she goes. I nailed all 3 gears, finished with an 11.8 something with a 118 mph q/t mile speed. I
I have all 3 slips that I will upload when I get back from RMS today, I would say that I didn't do that bad and found myself improving on each and every run. It was a lot of fun and i'm definetly heading out n August 4th to run again. I met some very nice people and it was an awesome time.
