Thanks, good video.
Do racers get any trainning on how to slide in a crash?
One guy was sliding on his ass for a long time with hands in
front of his chest.
Or just do whatever you want?
I think it just comes under the heading of "on the job training"......Originally Posted by 888
By the time they get to the point of being good enough to be recorded by TV cameras they have had a TON of practice.
Nice video. Some of it I've seen before. I found myself cringeing at the ones that were going to hurt a lot and saying "nice slide" or similar to some of the others. I guess that's what comes from doing my own track time....

A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
u want slide training? hook u up to a rope to the back of a truck and drag ur sorry a$$ around the track!! LOLZ!
Great compilation, I cringe whenever someone gets tangled up with a bike though. Saw one guy doing the classic "coffin". Crossed hands over chest, tucked chin. Loved seeing the snake on the track haha.

Too sexy for this forum.
I believe you're supposed to bring your limbs in as close to your body as possible and push your chin down to avoid soft-tissue injuries and limb breaks. Getting a tumble or roll started also helps dissipate impact energy and of course, try to stay relaxed and go with the flow.Originally Posted by 888
I think most of them happen so fast they don't have time to think about it...
Wouldn't it be nice if all accidents happened in slow motion like that? I bet they wouldn't hurt as much....

I was never taught how to protect myself in a crash while sliding on the pavement. Since crashing is a common thing on the track that I thought stuff like that would be taught in the race school/course?

ya crashing is taught in racing school.. i remember even in pacific... then taught us lightly how to crash and what u should do during the crash and how u have to let go of the bike and don't try to hold on to it...
i remember one guy he held on to the handlebars and didn't let go and the bike flipped and of coz he was flipping with it and the foot peg was shoot into his rear spline and died... so in a crash always let go of the bike and stay relax... if u tense up... u will just hurt yourself even more...
I want that motherf*cking snake of that motherf*cking racetrack!
I believe there were 3 of these videos. If you search you'll probably find the orignal posts that had them.
