    Question Win2000 disk cleanup util

My computer (Win2000) is complaining that disk space is too low to perform certain operations eg. printing.

Is there a utility that will scan the drive and point out directories which are particularily large? I don't *think* I have a lot of data kicking about unused. Probably a lot of apps that I don't use much anymore.

you can download it for free and it'll tell you where the pigs are.

    just use the evaluation copy.

edit: have you tried compacting your Outlook data files too? they don't compact by themselves.

delete things like your temporary internet files. delete items in your temp folder. let the system compress older unused files.

run a defrag when you get about 15 to 25% disk space free.

if your drive is fat32, convert it to ntfs.

    delete the porn.

And then I'd have a computer worth $90 (IOW my computer is old crap.)

I'm using Tree Size and ditching some apps I don't run anymore. Thanks for everyone's help so far. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Try this one: WinDirStat http://windirstat.sourceforge.net/

I've used it myself and it works well. Even entertains you by creating a trippy coloured map of your files.
Sweat wipes off, road rash doesn't. But helmet laws interfere with natural selection
