Just a heads up, this just happened to me while I was out on lunch. Two guys in a beige caravan wait in the parking lot. One of the guys gets my attention and explains to me that they have a brand new surround sound system that thier supplier accidentally loaded in thier van. They claim to be installers and have 20 minutes before they have to go install the units they got. But since they were mistakenly given an extra they are willing to let it go for a hell of a deal since they will end having thier boss take at the end of the day. They were fairly clean cut looking guys in a newer beige caravan.
At this point he gets out and introduces himself and opens the van door where you see a bunch of surround sound systems in new boxes. he pulls out the extra one and then opens up a magazine to validate its qaulity. Its apparently worth 3300 US. (The magazine is phony btw.) After I tried to politly insist I didnt need one, he said well he will give me a great deal at 700 bucks just to take it off thier hands since they only have 20 mins to be at the next install job. He then has his friend produce the Invoice from the supplier showing its a "PAID" account and that there is nothing shady going on. It was simply a mistake on the suppliers part.
The brand is "Kirsch".
I walked away, now after a little bit of research this is apparently a scam thats happened alot in the US. The scenario is very very similar. Apparently the surround system does work, but is really only worth about $250.
Anyways, just a heads up that I just ran into this in the Langley Area.
