Im Kinda impulsive I tend to jump in to things and often enough things work out, though my bike now sounds Great, and seems a little torqueyer in the bottom end
Thats kick ass, I did the same with the stock pipe on my R6, and got the same affect. I'm sure you'll get a bunch of tools coming on here and telling you its stupid and your gonna blow your engine up or something.... just ignore it, it looks sweet and its your ride
Looks great but I'm sure it would be too loud for me.
Remap? That depends on what you're feeling in terms of smoothness of response. If it's a slipon then you can probably live with the fairly minor oddities. If it was a full system then you'll really enjoy a remap. Chances are you'd enjoy one anyhow but is it worth the $350 for the PC III and time ti fiddle with finding maps and downloading them to the bike.
A friend of mine cut down his yosh pipe to about the size of this one after it got a bit bent up on his 04 r6 and he figures he lost a fair bit of low end as well, but it still pulls pretty good up high, his sounds pretty tinny at times but is louder for sure.
