Here's hoping someone can shed some light on my little problem. Last month I had my little 2000 ninja 500R in for an oil change and valve adjustment. Seems pretty straightforward, huh? But after a ride up the fraser canyon to Boston bar I noticed a little oil under my bike. Didn't think much of it, I thought maybe they had overfilled it. Couple of days later I head for a ride on the highway to Van to join up with a HC ride at the Flying Swan. By the time I get there, the bike is steadily dripping oil.
I ride back home still losing oil and making a mess of my bike, my boot, and pants.
We take it back to the mechanic and he says, well the oil change was a month ago, but maybe something is kinked or not tightened properly.
He says he fixed the problem, cleaned my bike and (hands me $50!) I'm properly pissed off. Why couldn't he do it right the first time?
Now after yet another ride, the bike is starting to drip again. It seems after the pressure builds up the bike starts to leak but its from the top under the gas tank, by the twins. Have they thoroughly @#$# something when they adjusted valves? Any suggestions?
Now, I have to take it elsewhere, pay more to figure out what is going on. I don't think I ever want to go back to the first guy, but really he should be fixing this mess.
