I just got rid of my wife's old car, and got a new car. I kept the 2 spare winter tires (mounted on steel rims) from the old car and wonder if they'll fit on the new car. Nevermind the totally ghetto look of having different front and rear wheels and tires.
The old car wheel specs:
Plymouth Acclaim 1989-1995 (5x100mm / 12x1.5 Lug-nut / HPO / 57.10mm Bore)
The new car wheels specs:
Volkswagen Golf IV (all models) 1999-up (5x100mm / HPO / 14x1.5 Lug-bolt / 57.10mm Bore) Right now the car has P205/55R16H mounted on 6.5J x 16" alloy.
The tires I want to keep for use in the snow:
President Winter Extreme P195/70R14 90R M+S
It's looks like the bolt pattern is identical (5x100mm) - good
What's the 12x1.5 or 14x1.5 mean? HPO? Can I use the rims and tires as is, just the tires on different rims, or not at all?
