i bought my bro a 2000 CBR929 off a guy who let it sit outside for over a year. i've changed the oil, and gas (put an injection cleaner in gas), put a power commander in with a custom map for a stock 929 I downloaded off the powercommander website. i haven't changed the air filter or plugs - the bike has tons of power (dynoed at 120hp), but between 4000 and 6000 rpms the engine bogs out a little. i've run it through the first full tank of gas and i think the problem is slightly better (very slightly). There is still some power in the problem rpm range, but it feels like engine is begging for more gas or something (running lean). it lacks power from 4000 to 6000 rpms but as soon as it hits 6001 rpms it takes off like a bullet all the way to redline. Also, 0-4000 rpms has normal power.
i don't know if this has anything to do with the problem - but when i picked up the bike to take it to the dyno (pre-sale test) i noticed that there was way too much oil in the engine. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING... i literally drained over 1.5 liters of excess oil from the engine!
so with this being said, what the fcuk? I want to fix the problem.
