I'm looking to buy a battery charger to keep my battery charged when storing my bike for the winter. Just wondering which type to get. I saw at Canadian tire a model where it keeps the battery topped up all the time. Or should I just charge my battery every month. Which would be best to keep my battery in the best condition?
I'm going to write up a post about how to do this. It's a timely subject and one that can help a lot of others. Look for it under the title "Build a winter battery tender yourself" in this forum.
I picked up a 6/12 volt wall cube maybe 16 years ago,it puts out 1/2 amp(500ma).I put the battery on it once/month for 12-14 hours over the winter. Its a manual charger so I have to take it off the battery after each charging session.
