2 months ago - I went in to RMS for a estimate on repairing a low-sided scooter, I've told him what happened and want the bike to be renewed. (left the bike there with insurance still active) The service agent examined the scooter and told me I've to wait until he faxes me the "quotation" - didn't even ask for discounts. I've waited 4 days, after continues calling and follow-up, he finally faxed me a quote with a bunch of inventory codes and total price to fix it. I gave him the go-ahead and it was only a 2 hour max labour. After 3 weeks, AND continued follow-up and accepting generic excuses, he finally called me and told me the scooter was done. I went there to pick it up and discover the following:
1) stock reflector missing from the front fender (he told me it's still on order, SO I have to bring the bike back again)
2) obvious scratched up fairings NOT replaced (He told me he didn't saw it BUT he had the scooter in the shop for 3 weeks)
3) Rear brake malfunction after riding it on the way home.
Seriously, would you call this work *Done* if you were the mechanic?
I called him up and told him again what happened. He sends me ANOTHER quotation for the fairing replacements (2 more days again)
*Originally all this was agreed paid by the rider who low-sided the scooter under the first quote* NOW I'm going to the guy again and asking for more $. He's not happy and I'm not happy. It wastes my summer time and insurance.
I approved the order immediately. This is 3 weeks back and the second order form has less only 6 parts. It's a 2002 model scooter!!! How long is this gonna take??!??!
Just doesn't sound reasonable to me with cosmetic replacements to take more than 1 month!!!!
The only distance the scooter has gone this summer was the one trip to and from RMS and home. Now the insurance has expired and ain't scooter riding season anymore.
Please shed some lights, does anyone have had good expriences with the parts/service department to point me to someone who can get things rolling?? I'm not expecting "pampered" services but I want my $ paid for with value, and possibly some true order time period.
