A week weeks ago I had an unfortunete incident deep into a corner involving a bunch of gravel and a meridian. Wasn't fun, but I came out of it with just bruises. Gear. Wear it EVERY time.
Anyway, bike came out with a bunch of fairing damage, a bit of rash on the pipe, frame slider bashed to shit, but all things considered not too bad. All the same, costs to replace all that would have been over $6,000, so ICBC wrote the bike off.
I bought it back though (got a great price) with the intent of turning it into a track bike, but am thinking about putting it back on the road. As far as damage I'd HAVE to fix to make it rideable... Replace the nose fairing, fix/replace the tail fairing, replace the brake pedal, bend the front fairing mount back into shape, and really... that's pretty much it. I can live with scratched fairings.
Besides repair costs, what else would I be looking at to get it legal again? Just cost of an inspection by an ICBC accredited shop, and cost of getting new VIN issued? Does anyone know what average fees are for this?
