For the riding I like to do I love my FZ1. My last 4 rides were all 700km plus days so I don't want to give up the riding position and comfort of the FZ1. But, I miss the handling of a pure sportbike. I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs without gear and the bike is sprung for a 170lb rider. No matter what I do it just can't be set up right. I had a pogo stick when I was a kid, I don't want one with 2 wheels at 180 kmh.
My search has lead me to California Suspension Works but here lies my question. Do I spend $860.00 US to revalve and re-spring my shock and forks. Testimonials rave about this guys work on FZ1's saying that it transforms the bike to as close as pure sportbike as you can get without clip-ons, rearsets and the back-ache.
$860 US plus shipping and insurance is probably going to work out to be $1500 bucks. Ouch!!
Does anyone know anybody in Canada who does this kind of work? Or stateside that may be cheaper?
Any advice will be appreciated, just don't tell me to get a pure sportbike...... or do I just swallow it and fork out $1500
