I am wondering what types of cleaners you can/do/have used on your CLEAR plastics ie) visors or windscreens
How did it turn out?
I need something that will clean well but not damage the surface.
I took on the task of tearing down the dash in my car today so that I could change the bulbs that had burnt out. The chick at Lordco told me there are only 3 bulbs and I was doubting it but I thought - she should be the expert *rolls eyes* Anyways, there are 6 for the backlights alone and 4 more for the warning lights and 2 more for the turn signals. There are also a couple of smaller bulbs in the accessory switches and it was well after they closed. I figured I might as well change 'em all since I have it stripped down and I decided I might as well give it some TLC since I have to wait till tomorrow to get the rest of the bulbs. (I think I should have my own repair show - hahaaha) I've cleaned all the panels, fasteners, bolts and screws that I had to remove to get to the dash bulbs but there's one part I'm not sure about.
There is some blotchiness on the surface of the cluster cover. I use interior cleaner and dressing when I clean the car and there is some splash and overspray on the plastic (edit) THAT IS NOT coming off with mild soap and water. (end edit) I want to try to get it back to clear and gleaming, so that's why I'm asking for suggestions. If it's a no-go I'll go to Ford and just buy a new one, but I'd like to see if I can get it sparkly on my own before I take the easy way out.
Thanks for your suggestions!
