December 6th marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at L'École Polytechnique de Montréal. They were specifically targeted as women.
As well as commemorating these women, December 6 is a day for us to reflect on the problem of violence against women in our society. And it is a reminder for our communities to follow through with actions to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.
Please take a moment to mark December 6 by signing on to the Canadian Labour Congress action campaign for women. Declare your support for increased core funding for women's groups across the country which advocate for equality and to end violence against women.
