My wife is asking for an mp3 player for her birthday. One place she definitely sees herself using it is while exercising: working out at the gym or walking/jogging around the neighbourhood. Given the amount of potential bouncing, I'm guessing a flash-based player is the way to go.
If we go with an iPod I expect we'd get a Nano given the size.
Is the iPod generally considered the undisputed king of mp3 audio -- just like Apple would have you believe? Or can I get more for less $$$ if I buy non-iPod?
My wife is computer-savy so technology is not scary for her. However, Apple has been long known for its powerful yet simple UI and applications, unlike many of its competitors.
Related question: I think I've seen mp3 players with FM tuners, but rarely/never an AM tuner. Any reason why?!
