Time to get a new computer. And time to get a new printer. Both for home office use.
My frustration: there are SO MANY different products to choose from that I feel like I'm drowning in my attempts to research and pick what is best for us.
Let's take the simpler example: the printer. We are thinking about getting a inkjet multifunction/all-in-one (is there a difference between those two categories!?) so we can fax, copy, scan, and print in colour (docs and photos) with just one purchase. Plus space is at a premium on our little crowded desk so one-unit-does-it-all is good for us.
There are SO MANY printers from various manufacturers out there. HP, Epson, Canon, Samsung, Lexmark... the list goes on.
Should I simply go into Staples or Future Shop, find those printers which satisfy our needs and compare the sample printed output? Is it worth bothering to figure out which are more efficient for paper, ink use?
Am I making a bigger deal out of this than I should be? Are most printers similar enough in performance that you can just grab the one that's on sale and be happy with it?
Don't get me started on the new computer even MORE specs to worry about. But in my defence, almost ANYTHING I buy will be faster than the P3 600 I'm faced with
