This headline is front and centre on the latest District of Highlands Newsletter. This is delivered to every house in the Highlands. The story follows...
“The number of motorcyclists using the winding roads of the Highlands to test their abilities or obtain a thrill at high speeds is becoming increasingly apparent. The risk for serious injury to the motorcyclist and to the general public is obvious. Please report incidents of dangerous driving / speeding motorcycles or other motor vehicles directly to the RCMP. Be prepared to provide as accurate description as you can of the vehicle and driver as well as a licence plate number if at all possible. Please feel free to contact Cst. Brian FRYIA at the West Shore Detachment with any concerns at 474-2264”
Later in the newsletter, under “RCMP incidents” is the description of pulling a crashed motorcyclist out of a fence with a broken leg.
