    insurance discount

is it true that completing riding school can result in a discounted insurance rate? and if so through which schools?

i can't remember how i heard this but would like some confirmation as I am looking to take a course.

    really?! insurance discount?

umm..I think attending riding school has nothing to do with insurance discount, but it certainly helps you to get your license faster.

I called ICBC today and ask them about this, they told me no! the only way you get a discount on your bike is if you don't get into accident and that's it!!

Yep. It's called the Claims Rated Scale, has been for years.
On the other hand, no discounts on insurance for those that pass driving schools either, so the "playing field," is even for motorcyclists and motorists.

Some extra insurance companies (Megson, Beacon, Coast Capital, etc) will provide discounts for having taken a course. Have to call and ask to make sure the course you took is accepted.

Still have to buy the basic ICBC though.

    ;D
