If anyone will be heading out to ride Herrling in any of the weekends leading up to the March 3rd and 4th race and poker run weekend, we need help with clearing trails and making the course safe for everyone to get out there.
www.fvdra.com has a forum too, and there is more info there, but basically YOU can help by coming out to Herrling and donating some manpower. There are trees across the trails everywhere. Bring a saw if you have one, power or hand (most of the trees there are fairly small). And bring your energy to push pull and drag trees out of the way.
If you cut a tree, please cut it so that the cut end isn't a boot snagger, radiator poker, or knee ripper offer. Basically take the time to do it right. It doesn't really take that long to do.
If we get some good help, we can make a longer course. Right now the FVDRA is hard pressed to get help, so we're going to be forced to make a short course. I'd like to see the whole island used to it's fullest.
Course design ideas are also welcome at the trail clearing, you won't just be a guy with hands who can help.
