calling for riding partners in the greater Fraser valley

this was also posted in "going for a ride you coming"
    ____________

I want to put together a email list for road riding.

I used to run an email list for off road riding. That list was originally built off of "thumpertalk’s" fraser valley riders within it's forum.
It had built up to about 35 people. (18-52yrs old) It consistently ran for 5yrs.
We had a regular crew of about 6-10 that came out every weekend.
Until I messed up my shoulder and left single track. the list was passed on and is still going.

I'm a little frustrated with trying put together a regular crew.
As if now I hang out on 3-5 different forums! some international.
(yeah I work at a desk!)

In the summer I ride with 6-7 different guys but they are mostly seasonal riders. I find they are not riding frequently enough.
seem to always have an excuse not to ride. (not you chris)

    excuses:
    1. the weather sucks
    2. its too early
    3. I'll be too hung over.
    4. I only have 45mins to ride
    5. I cant ride that far. my wrists will hurt.

So often I end up riding solo.
    boring.

    my experience:

    Mostly off road (20yrs exp)
    Action motorcycle school Grad.
I have been road riding for 3 years.
So I'm not a newb def. not a pro.

this is who I'm looking for:

consistent riding buddies.. guys gals I dont care!
    full class 6

    responsible riders with similar exp.

I dont care what you ride be it cruisers, sport bikes retros.. (as long as you can keep up to hwy speeds) variety is cool.

    here's me:

    I'm 38yrs old, Married, 2 kids.
(I dont care how old you are as long as your (fairly) mature.

    * I will plan a few road trips 2-3 day rides, route them out and will post here too... as well many many day trips.

hope to meet some of you soon.

just PM me if you want on the list.
I'll organize a meet at a coffee shop soon.

do you ride during the week?? i work nights so the only time i get to spend with my kids is weekends and i won't sacrafice that unless they have plans or staying with their mother. i'm available monday, tues till about 3 or 4pm and can drag my ass out of bed around 10 or 11 the rest of the week.
That that doesn't kill us forces us to live with a busted up bike!!

unfortunately the mid week doesnt work well.

sunday is usually the day I can get out or early sat mornings. 8-11am
I work downtown and commute from Surrey so I usually get home 6:30-7 and after the kids home work theres not much time left.

I will be into doing more night rides during their summer holidays (no home work) woooweee!.

I can get out for the occasional one now as well.
I have been trying to avoid the night rides ... due to bad pot holes.

    cheers.

I wouldn't post up that you're riding right now. The computer jockeys will take offense you're riding "out of season" and flame ya ...
If you wanna say something, speak into the mic. It's right above my balls.

"You might want to add in what pace of riding you like to do. Such as moderate, spirited, fast or balls to the wall..etc. This might help gather around you people of similar riding interest. E
Which part of SUrrey are you in for conenience of meeting etc.?"

yeah good point the pace well it varies. I'm not a shithead so I wont bail on people and leave them in the dust. I usually ride the back and make sure nobody gets left behind.

    i'm pretty responsible ...
I would say I'm around the middle.... not totally conservative...
so as you put it "spirited"....

you know "have fun but don't be an idiot", so you wont see me breaking the excessive speeding laws risking losing my licence, setting up for a bad corner... endangering peoples lives.

not to say I have opened my bike up a bit on deserted open roads.
    or pulled the odd wheelie.

"thee" list is at around 20 people already.
I'm sure it will round its self off. I find if one person can organize
a ride. people will show. I was this "person" with my off road buddies.

I live in Fraser Heights. So north of the number 1 HWY. many coffee shops and great back road access to Langley and the Albion Ferry. we dont have to meet there it can and will vary.

    cheers.
